# Slides

When presenting slides in a live broadcast, it is often assumed speakers will use PowerPoint or screenshare on Zoom. In fact, speakers control slides on a public link supplied from Wavecast.

It allows the broadcast engineer to ingest the slides into the broadcast in a controlled manner.

## Slide preparation

Observe the following guidelines when preparing slide content:

* Create slides in your usual software e.g. PowerPoint or Keynote.
* When uploading slides to Wavecast, they must be in PDF format.
* Slide animations are not recommended for a live broadcast. Should they be required, it is advisable to book a pre-recording session in order to capture the content in advance.
* Organisers may wish to notify their speakers in advance that slides will be operated on a Wavecast link and that animations are not supported.
* The slide tool link should be circulated in advance, so your speakers can familiarise themselves with controlling the slides.

## Upload and operation

Follow this guide to create, upload and operate a slide deck.
